Fee and Billing Information for Patients
A note from Dr. Kline regarding fees:
My practice does not contract with any health insurance network or carrier, and I do not bill insurance carriers on behalf of patients. Payment in full is expected at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made in advance. In cases of financial hardship, I can sometimes offer services to individuals on a reduced fee basis. Please do not hesitate to talk with me about your situation if finances are a potential barrier to treatment for you.
I offer prospective new patients a free 30 minute “audition consult.” This allows both of us to get a sense of whether there could be a ‘good fit’ for our working together. For additional information on the audition consult, please visit this page.
I can provide my patients with documentation suitable for submission for health insurance reimbursement. However, I can not guarantee whether or how much reimbursement will be provided, nor can I explain the details or limits of your healthcare coverage for psychiatric treatment. Only your insurance carrier can provide you with that information.
Generally, my fees are based on the amount of time spent in your care, as shown in the list below:
FEE SCHEDULE EFFECTIVE OCTOBER, 2020
Initial Evaluation (60 minutes): $205.00
Comprehensive Initial Evaluation (90 minutes): $295.00
Long followup or psychotherapy visit (50 minutes): $160.00
Short followup or psychotherapy visit (30 minutes): $90.00
Brief (10-15 minute) followup: $50.00
My practice often involves close collaboration with other healthcare proiders who my patients consult. There are usually no additional charges for time spent in those communications. If lengthy or complex special written reports are needed, I may charge for time spent in preparation of report, but never without first estimating the charges to you.
Again, I encourage you to talk with me if you have any questions or concerns about fees or billing in my practice. - Mark Kline, MD
